North Greenwood

The North Greenwood CRA was proposed by the Clearwater Urban Leadership Coalition in 2019, which led to the completion of a Finding of Necessity Study by the city of Clearwater. This established the area's boundaries and the creation of the North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area Plan.

This plan addresses the unique needs of the neighborhood and is a guiding tool for strategies and policies implemented in the CRA. The plan includes overall goals and identifies types of projects planned for the area. All expenditures of tax increment funds must be tied to the plan's implementation.

On May 23, 2023, the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners approved the new North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area. The CRA includes 840.88 acres or 1.31 square miles.

Clearwater Brewing Company officially opened in North Greenwood with a packed Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Over 300 guests joined city leaders to celebrate the new brewery and its handcrafted drinks.
