Emily’s Restaurant Begins a New Chapter in Downtown Clearwater
Published on October 01, 2026
The Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency is recognizing Emily’s Restaurant as the October Business Spotlight, highlighting a longtime Downtown Clearwater restaurant entering a new chapter under new ownership.
Located at 101 S. Garden Ave., Emily’s has served the community for 45 years. Former owners Tony and Ronnie Aloizakis helped establish the restaurant as a welcoming, old-school diner known for classic breakfast and lunch favorites. Today, that tradition carries on under new owner, Nicholas “Nick” Pastis, who is building on Emily’s longtime character while introducing his own vision for the business.
Pastis has more than 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry. A classically trained graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, his career has included positions with Rainbow Room, Manhattan, Walt Disney World, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa and City Fish Seafood Grill & Chop House in Oldsmar.
Now, Pastis is combining that experience with what customers already know and enjoy about Emily’s.
“Emily’s has always been an old-school diner,” Pastis said. “The idea is preserving that feel and that integrity and the offerings that we have.”
Looking ahead, Pastis sees opportunities for the business as Downtown Clearwater evolves. Emily’s is now open Sundays, with plans to expand its hours, introduce dinner service and add staff as demand increases.
“What I’m most excited about for the future of Emily’s Family Restaurant is the growth potential that is happening in the Downtown Clearwater area,” Pastis said.
